- Steve, I can't help you with Lisrel, but I've been using a copule of other
- Scientific Software programs (Tesfact and Bimain) using the DOS extender and
- I have the same problems. I think I've traced the problem to the Cyrix
- math coprocessor which is not, according to some hardware gurus I consulted,
- fully compatible with the Intel specifications around which the software was
- almost certainly designed. The Cyrix runs faster, but makes calls on the
- CPU which some systems (including IBM machines) can't handle. Windows will
- probably compound the problem further because it accesses the bus in a
- different way again. Try turning off the coprocessor if you can and see if
- this helps to eliminate this option - it did for me - but, of course, the
- program becomes usless as a tool because it runs too slow. Also you
- could try running on a 486 with the Intel chip and see if this works.
-
- Hope I'm wrong.
