- While going thru the current issue of Amstat News, I noticed ad on pp 89 for
- a biostatistician at the Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic that tickled
- my funny bone.
- They want someone with "Prior experience working with large data sets and
- statistical tests, knowledge of statistical software, and expertise with
- MACRO (my emphasis) and micro computers ..."
-
- I must confess my ignorance: I had no idea this beastie (macro computer) even
- existed! Who knows, perhaps it has been lurking in my subconcious all these
- years...
-
- In the same issue, there are also a couple of good letters (pp. 20-21). I found
- Meridith Warshaw's letter more compelling, may be because I am in the same
- league too. Perhaps the "Isolated Statisticians" group (pp 4) will help some ...
-
- Many other goodies are covered in this issue. E.g. the issue of certification
- has finally gotten the attention it deserves. An e-mail discussion group has
- been set up just for this issue: asacert@ctrvax.vanderbilt.edu (pp. 9)
