  12. While going thru the current issue of Amstat News, I noticed ad on pp 89 for
  13. a biostatistician at the Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic that tickled
  14. my funny bone.
  15. They want someone with "Prior experience working with large data sets and
  16. statistical tests, knowledge of statistical software, and expertise with
  17. MACRO (my emphasis) and micro computers ..."

  19. I must confess my ignorance: I had no idea this beastie (macro computer) even
  20. existed! Who knows, perhaps it has been lurking in my subconcious all these
  21. years...

  23. In the same issue, there are also a couple of good letters (pp. 20-21). I found
  24. Meridith Warshaw's letter more compelling, may be because I am in the same
  25. league too. Perhaps the "Isolated Statisticians" group (pp 4) will help some ...

  28. has finally gotten the attention it deserves. An e-mail discussion group has
