  12. Shapiro,Wilk,and Chen(1968) JASA 63:1343-1372 report an empirical
  13. comparison of alternative methods for testing for normality.  The
  14. methods they compare include the chi-squared test, the Kolmogorov-
  15. Smirnov test, as well as the Shapiro-Wilk test. 45 alternative
  16. distributions in 12 families and five sample sizes were studied.
  17. Overall, the S-W test was most powerful.
  18. It also can be applied to small sample sizes.
