  14. As always when I have a particularly vexing problem, I return to the source
  15. of most wisdom in the Universe, the Net.

  17. I am trying to use PROC REPORT in SAS 6.07 under MVS/XA and things are
  18. working just fine except for one minor problem.  It seems that REPORT
  19. alphabetizes the formatted values of an ACROSS variable.  I guess in most
  20. cases this isn't a problem, but in my case it is.  My formats are
  21. student classes (e.g. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, etc.), and
  22. these just don't look right alphabetized (e.g. F J Se So).

  24. I have looked in the book, talked to my local support people, and we've
  25. come to the conclusion that maybe this 'feature', and I use that term
  26. lightly, can't be circumvented.  If it can't, then I am going to have
  27. to go back to custom designing my reports, and I think that would be
  28. too bad as the output looks almost perfect.

  30. Any suggestions or commiseration?  Is this going to be 'fixed' in a ZAP
  31. to SAS?  Is anybody at SI listening? {hint hint}
