- We have several IBM 3163/3164's in our stacks -- no problems at all since
- I disabled the Setup and Esc keys. Few people seem to know about the
- cartridges, or care. The workstations are on custom-built stand-up
- tables with no particular special features; they aren't bolted or
- attached to the stands in any way. The 316Xs are a little big to be
- terrible portable, and the only Library exit is immediately adjacent to
- the Circ desk. At this point all terminals in the stacks are in spots
- close to entrances to each floor, so there is steady traffic in each
- vicinity much of the time. Basically, it hasn't been a headache, except
- for having someone run around to power them all off each evening and on
- each morning -- leaving them on constantly was deemed a fire hazard when
- a 3164 started smoking voluminously one time a few years back (before my
- time -- I don't believe this happens often ...)
