  25. This statement is wrong. Germany (west) was experiencing a boom period for
  26. more than 2 years while other industrialized countries around the world
  27. were in a recession. Some of the demand generated from German unification
  28. has spread out to other countries. Austria in particular benefitted from
  29. it. Some 1/10 percentage points of economic growth in Austria was
  30. attributed to this effect (Sorry, I could not find the precise figures at
  31. the moment).
  32. This development is closely related to other developments resulting from
  33. the removal of barriers between East and West Europe. To those who are
