  14. We are presently adjusting to several librarian retirements in our library
  15. and many jobs are shifting in the process.
  16.  
  17. One of the jobs that has been shifted to a staff member in my department
  18. is the mending of books.  I should mention that no one librarian will take
  19. full responsibility of this job.  My staff member has had no previous
  20. experience with the mending of materials and tends to be a little slower
  21. at certain circulation tasks.  The mending was previously done by our
  22. Head of Cataloging Librarian.

  24. We now find ourselves overburden with the mending and I just don't feel
  25. that it is being given the attention it needs.  There are complaints from
  26. other departments about the backlog and also about the way in which my
  27. staff member is doing the mending.  So... I'm coming to you all - what is
  28. your policy on the mending?  what department is responsible for the mending?
