- We are presently adjusting to several librarian retirements in our library
- and many jobs are shifting in the process.
-
- One of the jobs that has been shifted to a staff member in my department
- is the mending of books. I should mention that no one librarian will take
- full responsibility of this job. My staff member has had no previous
- experience with the mending of materials and tends to be a little slower
- at certain circulation tasks. The mending was previously done by our
- Head of Cataloging Librarian.
-
- We now find ourselves overburden with the mending and I just don't feel
- that it is being given the attention it needs. There are complaints from
- other departments about the backlog and also about the way in which my
- staff member is doing the mending. So... I'm coming to you all - what is
- your policy on the mending? what department is responsible for the mending?
-
- I would appreciate any information you can give me on this. Thank you!!!
