- I received the UK Shamen 'Boss drum' CD single in the mail yesterday. 8
- tracks, 40 minutes. If this is released locally for 8 dollars, without
- modifications, then the:
-
- Scuglia rating = 8 songs / 8 dollars = 1 dollar per song.
-
- Curtis factor = 40 minutes / 8 dollars = 50 cents per song.
-
- Therefore, we can see that the Scuglia/Curtis ratio is *exactly* 2:1. This
- is especially difficult in these times of 3 or 5 track CD singles, and gives
- an overall indication of a well balanced, almost mathematically perfect
- release.
-
- Of course, detractors of Techno music will slam these results, saying that
- because the music isn't live, it's manufactured and artificial, causing such
- a precise ratio, but I say *pshaw*. We need some stability in these tough
- times, and I'm not prepared to see the 3.473 recurring fiasco of the last
- Phil Collins CD.
