  33. Here (At least in Melbourne) the speed cameras are sometimes set up
  34. to snap the fronts of vehicles, and sometimes the rear of vehicles. There
  35. seem to be more set up to snap the fronts (in my experience), but perhaps you
  36. just don't see as many set up the other way coz they're concealed by the car
  37. that they're operated from.

  39. We too have red light cameras, not to mention bus lane and transit lane
  40. cameras.

  42. As annoying as all this traffic camera technology is, I must (*sigh*) admit
  43. that is does save lives, so we are better off with it than without. To me, it's
  44. much the same as a tax. It's almost inevitable that you will be snapped at some
  45. time or other.

  47. BTW, does anyone out there know why the law requiring motor o&o to have a front
  48. number plate was dropped? I can't think of anything apart from aesthetic
  49. reasons. I can't imagine it being dropped for that. Can you?
