  22. To whom it may concern,
  23.       I will soon complete a Diploma of Computing Science at the 
  24. University of New England, Armidale.  I feel this will be an 
  25. extremely useful enhancement to my Rural Science degree, also
  26. studied at UNE.  I am seeking a research and/or tutoring position
  27. in the area of animal science/genetics.  I hope to find a position
  28. which will best utilize my skills and allow me to acquire new ones.
  29. I feel my best academic skills are in solving problems, and helping
  30. others understand this problem solving process.  I have included a
  31. Curriculum Vitae with this letter which will tell you more about my 
  32. background.

  34.       During my Diploma I have gained experience programming in C, 
  35. PASCAL, ADA, LISP, PROLOG and other languages.  I have experience
  36. with the UNIX and DOS operating systems and have gained skills from
  37. studies in Software Engineering and Expert Systems.  I have gained
  38. research and written communication skills from writing thesis in 
  39. both Rural Science and Computing Science.  Both involved a large 
  40. amount of programming, and difficult mathematical algorithms.  
  41. During my Rural Science degree I specialised in Animal Science 
  42. including some subjects in Animal Breeding and Genetics.  My work 
  43. demonstrating in Soil Science and Quantitative Genetics has
  44. helped to develop my interpersonal skills required to help students
  45. in their practical classes.  I have also gained leadership and
  46. organisational skills in my position as President of the UNE Women's
  47. Cricket Association in recent years.
  48.  
  49.       I have gained broad experience in research, programming, teaching
  50. and communication skills and feel I have much to offer in a research
  51. or tutoring position.  I am available for interview after the 19th of
  52. November and am prepared to start work when required.  I will gladly
  53. supply the names of referees on request and I look forward to hearing
  54. from you in the near future.
