- Is there a problem with the SONY KV2964 68cm Television?
-
- Last week I bought a this television.
- After watching the SBS test pattern, I noticed that the picture was not
- horizontal. From the bottom of picture to the first white line I measured a
- drop of 8mm on the left hand side. I called the retailer, and they forwarded
- me onto their service rep. He said, that with some of the larger screens
- this is to be expected. Great! I didn't think this was acceptable, so I
- asked for another TV. This TV arrived today, and it has the same problem,
- but only 4mm this time. This might have been acceptable except that after
- 10 minutes viewing I noticed a large patch of yellow discoloration in the
- top right hand corner. It is most noticeable with a blue background.
-
- My thought were;
-
- 1) HiFi speakers. These were moved out of the room with no effect.
- 2) Pour reception. I played a prerecorded video with no improvement.
-
- What should I do? [In my current preference]
-
- 1) Return this TV, and try every machine in the store.
- 2) Ask for my money back, and buy the same model at another store.
- 3) Ask for my money back.
- 4) Try and get the machine repaired.
-
- The 2nd option, is based on the assumption that this store has a FRIDAY batch.
- I have seen this model working in other stores - so I know that I am not
- being too demanding in expecting better performance.
-
- The 4th option is a last resort, and is based on how difficult these
- defects are to correct.
-
- So has anyone had any similiar experience with this TV, or with SONY?
-
- I am aware that this is a discontinued model - thus the sale price.
- [Could this be the issue, left over defect stock!]
-
- Thanks,
