- The earlier discussion of vampire music seemed to be focusing on
- groups who use vampires as a gimmick, and are hardly subtle about
- it. However, most of the vampire lyrics I've collected are from
- mainstream, Billboard type artists. A few of them require a bit of
- a streatch (although most are surprisingly blunt about it), such as
- "Take Me Home Tonight," which I didn't notice until hearing it right
- after reading the scene in _Interview With the Vampire_ in which
- Claudia is drained. Give these a listen if you've never thought
- about them as vampire songs before...
-
- "Forget Me Not" by Bad English
- "New Sensation" by INXS
- "Don't You Know What the Night Can Do"
- "Wait For the Sunrise" by Richard Marx
- "London" by Queensryche
- "The Ecstasy of Flight" by Chris De Burgh
- "Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Money
- (the original "Be My Baby" might fit, actually :)
- "Still of the Night" by Whitesnake
- "State of the Heart" by Rick Springfield (anyone else remember him? :)
- "The Wolf" by Heart
- "I Love the Night" and "After Dark" by Blue Oyster Cult
-
- That's all I can remember off the top of my head...I know my list
- included a bunch of Duran Duran and another Queensryche, but I can't
- remember which right now...
-
- Anybody got any more songs everybody's heard that have a hidden meaning?
