  12. The following is part of a consumer column of a certain newspaper, where
  13. a reader writes a letter saying that the diamond s/he bought turned out
  14. to be fake.  There I found a phrase "diamond jacket" that I, as a
  15. Japanese, don't understand.  I consulted several dictionaries but
  16. couldn't find the phrase.  Would any of you tell me what it is?

  18.     I purchased a diamond pendant in March 1984 for $3,000.  In
  19.     December 1985 I took this pendant to a different jeweler to
  20.     have a diamond jacket made.  The gemologist there examined the
  21.     pendant and told me it was not a diamond but a cubic zirconia...
