  27. I don't know if these are "official" in any sense, but I find myself
  28. using the "X" shorthand for many things starting with a "cross" or a
  29. "trans", such as
  30.  
  31.      Xprod     cross-prod(uct)
  32.      Xmit      transmit   ---   and all its uncle, aunts, cousins, ...
