Hi, everybody! After a lot of missed net-time, I'm back. And I so happy to
see you all! I stayed in today at lunch to catch up (and eat my low-fat, cheap
lunch).
Karen,
Learn to take a perverse pleasure in losing weight while other people are
gaining :-) I've done this for a few years now at the holidays, and it feels
great. We go to a lot of parties, etc., and I always tell myself I can
have *anything* I want to eat, as long as I eat a large salad before we go.
The more fattening things I think the party will have, the larger the salad.
This really lets me nibble, without feeling deprived, and it turns out I
don't eat much there at all.
I'd just warn your friends/family that you're taking a major step, and would
appreciate their assistance. Then bring your stuff, and go for it. Miss
Manners claims its an insult to go to someone's house for the food (i/s/o
their company), so you're not insulting them. Just tell them you didn't want
to miss the pleasure of seeing them, but this other thing is a trifle,
non-negotiable.
Good luck. Remember, they can't trip you up unless you allow it.
Congratulations on your loss, and many future happy losses.
