- I am planning to make a cowboy-style shirt, which has a curved yoke. These
- shirts often have a curly-cue (sp?) design on the yokes, which I think is
- usually appliqued, or maybe piped around an opening for a slit pocket. I
- wanted to put the design on using cording. My problem is what to do with
- the ends of the cords. The design doesn't extend to the seams, so I can't
- catch them in there. I could fold the ends of the cord under, but I think it
- would be bulky. I could satin-stitch across the ends of the cord but I think
- that might flatten them and maybe also not hold the ends permanently- might
- enhance the ravelling. I could use Fray Check, but I think that would look
- ugly and make a hard ball on the ends.
-
- What should I do? I have sewing machine with lots and lots of useful stitches
- (Bernina 1130)- any of these going to help me?
-
- I also thought of making a small circular bound button-hole at each end of
- the design (like and eyelet hole) in the top yoke layer, feeding the
- cord ends through, and then securing them to the under yoke somehow. I think
- this will be bulky too.

- The fabric is sandwashed rayon, if that has any impact.
