Hello Paul.  Welcome to ARCland.  I loved your entry and am very sorry about
your recent experience.  As painful as it is, if she doesn't want devotion,
and you do, then the relationship is better off ending, my new friend.

And to answer your question, there is nothing wrong with devotion.  As a
matter of fact, I think its a central component in a good relationship.
So, hang in there until you find that right lady who can share that point
of view with you.

In the meantime, you have 200 new friends!  Cool, huh?
