  27. While this rave was on the smaller side with only perhaps 600 ravers, the
  28. people at this rave were mostly Real Ravers (tm).  Very few Tourists (tm)
  29. braved the chilly night to seek out this not-so-widely-promoted rave.  The
  30. result was a feeling of togherness that developed rather early (3:30am)
  31. instead of the usual (4:30-5am).  I suppose that most of us already knew,
  32. or at least recognized each other from previous raves.  On the technical
  33. side, I was particularly impressed by the light show which consisted of a
  34. full dozen Emulators (Laser simulators produced by High End Systems), four
  35. Intellabeams, and maybe ten 1000 watt strobes!  DJ Wes did an exceptional
  36. job with the music which was technorave/hardcore until about 3:30 when he
  37. went into some Deep House and finally into Trance about 4:45.  My only
  38. complaint was the horrid song he chose to end everything with at about 6am.
  39. The location really didnt offer much for the organizer's to work with
  40. because it had the look and feel of a large store (what it used to be).  In
  41. my opinion, the space could have been better utilized by sectioning off
  42. areas to give a little more deminsion to the environment.  Thie chill room
  43. was pretty small and hastilly done but that had the positive effect of
  44. keeping the majority of the people in the dance area because you just cant
  45. chill if there is no room...

  47. All in all I had a great time but I was afraid that some of the first
  48. timers were not similiarly impressed.  A friend of mine that had never been
  49. to a rave before didnt seem to be enjoying himself very much until I
  50. insisted that he dance past the point of exhaustion into the JELLY ZONE.
  51. Like most people, his previous dancing experiences were that he danced for
  52. about 15 minutes and then took some sort of break (bathroom, drink, rest,
  53. flirt, etc...).  Both of us stayed until the rave ended and he expressed
  54. that he would like to go to at least one of the raves this weekend as well.
