- When Moria left the inn, two figures entered. Of both could be said that
- they were of average size: the first one was a normal-sized female gnome, the
- second one a normal-sized male half-ogre. Both were a bit on the ugly side.
- One could see that they had travelled for some days; they looked dusty and a
- bit tired. The half-ogre's gaze swept over the room, as if searching for
- something, then he he shook his head.
- "OK, let's drink something" murmured the the gnome, and both moved toward
- the bar, where Rowan Littlefair was cleaning glasses.
- "Beer!" grumbled the half-ogre.
- "Me too" added the gnome.
- "What sort of beer? We have..."
- "Just Beer!" snapped the big humanoid.
- Littlefair's and Listener's eyes met shortly, and Listener prepared his
- instrument, just in case.
- When both had an empty glass standing before them, the gnome asked the
- barkeeper, "Did you see an arrogant beanpole around here? Named Lifilis
- Kloote. Conjures things. We want to talk to him."
- "He has a room here, but I don't know when he comes back. You see, the time
- is a bit confusing around here. I have customers that haven't been here for
- a week, and others move out of their room, and on the same evening they are
- back..."
- "So he's still in town?"
- "He went to the Tower of Marlin, but he could be anywhere. You could ask the
- Seaguard."
- "Aha. Where is this tower?"
- "Go west until you see the river."
- "Thanks." The gnome put some coins on the counter, and they left.
