- This is not true, although it is expensive.

- Believe it or not, the type F fluid ford reccomends will do
- everything well, especially when you compare the price!
-
-
- >also.. regarding torque converters... what does the stall speed mean and
- stall speed= rpm the engine will generate at WOT with the transmission
- output shaft NOT turning *dont do this for more than 5 seconds!* The
- important point to remember regarding stall speed is that it is a
- RELATIVE number, in other words, it depends on many factors ie a figure
- of 2700 rpm in one car will not necessarily be the same if the T/C was
- installed in another car.
-
- >generally speaking the higher the stall, the better?
- This depends on the particular engine, its state of tune, car weight,
- etc. Generally speaking, the higher the power developed in a given
- size of engine *unsupercharged, of course* the higher the *stall speed*
- should be. If you are confused, dont feel bad, this topic cause more
- confusion than gear ratio.
-
- (what are the
- >drawbacks?)
- Lower fuel economy, higher heat input into trans fluid, low reliability
- with some brands of convertors
