- Before his studio work, Dan Huff ran around Christian music circles. For a
- several years he played for the band White Heart (This is fairly early eighties.)
- He also did a lot of session work for other christian bands in the transition
- between White Heart and the big league session work. During his tenure with
- White Heart he shared the guitar spot with Gordon Kennedy, who is pretty good,
- but not on the same level as Dan.
-
- Dan played on the first album (I think), but it's kinda MELLOW, not what you're
- expecting if you've only heard his latest stuff. I'm not sure what his last
- album with them was, but I know he's on Hotline, but I'm pretty sure he's not on
- Don't Wait for the Movie. I don't know if they put out anything between the two,
- as there was a serious reorganization of the band at that time.
-
- If you want to check just one out, I'd recommend Vital Signs (circa 84).
- He also had some cool stuff (w/ a smidgen more of a vintage vibe- just a smidgen)
- on the Margaret Becker album The Reckoning. On the whole, pretty much all of
- his session work is a couple of notches over the White Heart stuff where the mid
- eighties synth stuff makes the later albums kinda hard to listen to now, and the
- early albums were more laid back.
