  16. maybe I can say something to make my views clear , since no one has heard
  17. anything from me regarding this issue, which frankly I think has been beaten
  18. into the ground..

  20. #1... I do not think the jive posting was intended to be racist. Some of you
  21. might take it as being that way, but that's your problem.. not mine.

  23. #2... The bio I wrote was in my CS account here and I had no idea till I was
  24. told that someone had gotten it. I was asked to write it by a friend at Indiana
  25. University and she told me what she wanted in there...

  27. #3... I resent the whole idea of racism and my heritage being used as a stick
  28. to beat a dead horse. If I am going to be successful in the world, I want it to
  29. be because of my abilities, not because I'm of an ethnic minority group and I
  30. wear hearing aids. For the record, I do not use sign language as 99% of the
  31. people with my severity of hearing loss would. For those skeptics, look it
  32. up... I have a hearing loss (mean) of 75 dB  in each ear.. Most people with that
  33. loss wouldn't even be able to get through the regular school system without
  34. help, much less play a musical instrument as I do
  35.  
  36. #4... I don't mind giving people a laugh occassionally, but what I resent is
  37. being cut down behind my back.. There is no excuse for that and I will not
  38. tolerate it. I was not raised to descend to a level of name calling.

  40. #5... I was raised to take pride in myself and I admit, at times I do flaunt
  41. it. IT's something I'm trying to change and I hope that some people will at
  42. least see it that way..
