  32. but at least I grew up and changed my childish spitefulness.

  35. Yep, because of your invite, I went over to soc.culture.african.american
  36. to see what they'd say about your post.  Seems like there was 
  37. no response, eh?  Or rather,the only lifeblood of the omar-issue
  38. was Ted Frank's and your posts.  Tell me, did you feel like you
  39. were kicking a dying horse, trying to get it up to trot even
  40. though it was the least bit interested in your actions???

  42. Anyway, I don't think that you needed to assume that every
  43. Soc.culture.African.American would be ballistic over this issue.  Sure
  44. it makes fun of the way some jive-speaking people talk, but is 
  45. it that big of a deal?  Look at the [lack of] supportive response you
  46. got.

  49. For sake of comparison, look at something as simple as the Mario
  50. Brothers video game.  Are we to think that, like the jive-filter
  51. programmer and user, the Mario Brothers programmer(s) take humor
  52. in the fact that ALL Italians are named Mario and have funny little
  53. handlebar mustaches and are carpenters who act like bumbling 
  54. idiots, knocking their head into mushrooms and all other kinds
  55. of things?  Hey, we're all differnent and that makes life interesting.
  56. To this day I hear people speak jive-talk, and I sometimes have
  57. to ask a person to repeat him/herself because I couldn't understand
  58. their phrasing.  I sometimes hear two people speaking jive-english 
  59. and it's amazing to me that they understand each other.  It's 
  60. out there, it's a dialect that is used today, and doggone it,
  61. it's sometimes funny to me to think that these people, whose snippets
  62. of conversations I accidentally overhear, understand each other!!
  63. It amazes me!  Yep the jive filter is funny to me, and I can say
  64. from the bottom of my heart that I am not a racist.  You may think
  65. I am, but it's my opinion that this world will end before
  66. everyone thinks alike and noone gets offended by someone else.

  69. band-wagon-jumping soc.culture.A.A'ers.

  78. agree with anyone who thinks that it's time to lay off the
  79. Omar stories UNLESS...
