- According to this week's Time, the Catholic Church is defending its
- refusal to ordain women with the argument that women, not being
- men, would be unable to serve as convincing symbolic representatives of
- Christ, whose male status is well-documented. A woman advising the
- committee which is drafting the pastoral letter on this says, "Would you
- want Nick Nolte playing Mary in your nativity play?"
- So when do they start replacing all the florid hefty balding Irish
- priests with skinny long-haired bearded Palestinian Jews?
- I thought theologians were supposed to be good at arguing......
