- I've wondered the same thing since I first saw it. It seems a
- little too exact in highlighting modern stereotypes of the extreme
- Victorian. But I admit I'm not sure. I've a book from the same period
- called _What A Young Man Ought to Know_ on the same general topic, but
- addressed to young men. The extremity of viewpoint is no less, it just
- doesn't have that suggestion of being for the amusement of modern eyes.
