- The movie does indeed exist, and is actually pretty good (as far as
- any adaptation or abridgement of Tolkien possibly can be good). I
- really don't know any specifics about the movie (like who created it,
- etc), but gollum was done pretty well --really slimy and nasty, but in
- a comic sort of way ('nasty hobitses, we hates them doesn't we my
- precious...good Baggins'). The animation is perhaps not as good as it
- could have been, and some of the best parts are omitted, like the Tom
- Bombadil episode and (I think) most of the parts with Treebeard, among
- others. The Orcs are my favorite particular about the movie,
- especially the songs ('Where there's a whip there's a way'). Anybody
- else seen the movie?
