- If anything, Boromir, like his ancestors of the race of Numenor, is strongly
- lawful, but of neutral morals if anything. He is often described as
- "strong, proud, terrible and fair," which clearly reflects what could be
- called a "lawful" ethical pattern. Now in the context of the story, he is
- clearly on the side of Good, but in comparison to Aragorn or Gandalf's brother
- Radigast, he is much more 'neutral', if we're using these sorts of moral
- measurements.
-
- You'll remember, of course, that the reason boromir was tempted by the Ring
- was that it offered him a chance to overthrow the Dark Lord, which he wanted
- as a proud member of his race, but he was overcome by its power and turned
- to evil _deeds_, though not evil _nature_.
