  22. OK.  One more time.  This is so easy that those who don't understand must be
  23. refusing to understand.  What the Vice President said was:

  25.   1.  The single best predictor of a child's poverty status is the marital
  26.   status of the mother.  This is a fact, not left-wing or right-wing ideology,
  27.   not an opinion, but a fact, like the Earth is round, the sky is blue, and the

  31.   be aware of the difficulties that they are about to face.  They should know
  32.   what they are getting into.  The should be making the decision with their

  36.   the Murphy Brown show, who glamorize single motherhood and ignore #1.

  38. This was not an attack on single mothers because, though there may be millions
  39. of single mothers, and millions of reasons why they are single mothers, not
  40. a single one of them is a single mother for the same reason that Murphy Brown
  41. is a single mother:  she was written that way.
