  20. first heard of the APF (well ok, he didn't say "I'm just plain funny;
  21. why analyze me?", but he did doubt the usefulness of the venture).

  23. Everytime I get doubts myself, however, I only have to look in my
  24. mailbox, or at threads that spring up after an APF version has been
  25. posted, and they quickly disappear: the response to the APF is
  26. *overwhelming*, and almost uniformly positive -- the only reactions
  27. that could remotely be called 'negative' are a few folks like yourself
  28. who either say "I don't see what use all this is" or "Aren't you
  29. getting a bit carried away in your enthousiasm?".

  31. Finally, I think you're wrong if you're saying that we are analyzing
  32. Terry Pratchett to death. In fact, I have the feeling we are doing
  33. anything but that. A typical APF thread on this group usually starts
  34. with one annotation, and then *very* *quickly* mutates into spirited
  35. discussions about the subject of the annotation itself (i.e. "did Watt
  36. invent the steam engine or not?", "how does the pea & princes fairy
  37. tale go?", "what stories has Larry Niven written?")

  39. After four or five of such articles, the Terry Pratchett connection
  40. has usually completely disappeared.

  42. So no, I don't think we are 'analyzing' too much. Just having fun, I'd
