- Sunday was another sleeping in day, me and Tom gather ed our thing
- sand loaded our respective cars and checed out, it was about $225 for the
- room and I wound up paying a lot of that since the other people did not end up
- sharing the room for me. Next year I am barrwoing a vehicle I can sleep in
- I could not find Speet so me and Tom hooked up with a bunch of
- furrymuckers going to breakfast at IHOP. It was interesting trying to find
- room for 12 people in a crowded resteraunt, waiting for seats was more fun
- than eating; the table conversation was largely about the various characters
- we played on FurryMuck and how they interacted.
- Back at the con I sat out in the main hallway talking with Speet and
- watching him draw, I also returned some sketches he loaned me. Soon a
- cluster or artists were there filling in sketchbooks.
- The highlight of the con was when I look up and see Jim Groat and a
- couple others run out of the dealers room and then COVER Steven Martin with
- silly string! It was incredible! Thanks to Joe Strike of New York for
- capturting the thing on videotape, I'm sure people will be talking about for
- some time to come, and that the tape will make the rounds.
- WHen things got back to normal, I heard Tor/Tugrik hyping Cedar Con
- and the majority of us decided we may try to make it. This was interrputed
- with Jimmy Chin coming out of the art show looking totally stunned. A single
- figure color sketch from Eric Schwratz went for TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS! Eric
- was pleased becuase this also boosted sales of the print of the same peice, a
- bargain at a dollar for B&W and less than 10 for laser-printed color.
- As the con broke up most of us watched the silly-stringing of Steven
- Martin and then hammed it up for the video camera again. Normally camera-shy
- Jim Gorat had lots of fun playing with the camcorder and taping suck things
- as 12 of us doing a kick-dance and Speet tearing up a Martin catalog a la
- Sinead O'Conner. They all broke up to load their cars and have dinner and
- that is the last I saw of anyone.
- When I tried to go home I discovered my battery had died. Tom Pluck
- was nice enough to attempt a jump-start, and even went so far as to remove
- the battery from his car to put in mine to start it. Without him I would
- havee been stranded in Philadelphia until this morning when I could get a
- battery from someplace.
- Well, that is my con report, hope to hear some others to fill
- in the gaps
