  11. Gods can not hold the orb.  I believe that the passage in the Prologue to Pawn
  12. of Prophecy which clarifies this says something to the extent that before
  13. Torak used the orb to crack the world, "it welcomed the touch of man or god" 
  14. but it would not be used in that manner again.  For that reason, only one 
  15. who is without evil intent in his soul may take it up.  Eriond was one of 
  16. these, and so was Riva.  Riva's descendants became a revision to this rule, 
  17. presumably because the orb sensed that in order to aid the prophecy it 
  18. would need to form a bond with the Rivan line.  Gods could touch it (as 
  19. could anyone else) until Torak pissed it off.
