  12. Republican Heavyweights began to get the calls only a few days after the 
  13. election.  Dan Quayle's secretary is inviting major G.O.P. contributers 
  14. to a series of dinners at the Vice President's residence.  As she told 
  15. one top dog, "the Quayles are ina partying mood."  Warming up for 1996, 
  16. no doubt.

  18. Well, it's nice to know Dan has a plan.  And he'll have four years to 
  19. rest up.  So don't ditch that quote file just yet.  We may need 'em again 
  20. in 4 years.

  22. Meanwhile, down here in Houston, Texas, the official local Republican 
  23. party has split up.  The Republican Chairwomen has left and set up her 
  24. own new organiZation, leaving the ultraconservatives and Christian 
  25. Coalitian creeps to squabble amongst themselves as to who is going to 
  26. take over the shattered remnants of the local Republican Party.  And I 
  27. hear that there may be a number of other splits throughout the nation, 
  28. such as in Oregon, land of Proposition 9.  Since Dan was an especial 
  29. favorite of the Christian right, this should be interesting to see how he 
  30. tries to deal with both groups.  Especially if the rifts continue to 
  31. grow.
  32.   The term used down here by the local Republicans, (country club 
  33. variety), for the Christian Coalitian zealots and such is "Theocrats".

  35. When a nice label like this is invented, it ususally portends a long and 
  36. bitter fight.  Go to it Guys!  See ya in '96, Dan!
