- Me and my wife were out shopping, and she likes to lok at children's
- books because she is a teacher, and we ran across the following gem:
-
- "Good Dog, Millie" by Andy Mayer and Jim Becker
-
- This is required reading for all a.f.d-q veterans!
-
- It's a picture book (illustrations), and is quite hillarious (remember this
- was found in the children's book section of the local K-Mart).
-
- Description:
-
- The title page has a picture of Millie sitting on George's desk at the
- Oval Office, George is waving at the reader.
-
- Page 1: Babs tells Millie "Look after George Millie, I'll be back at five."
- George is working at his desk.
-
- Page 2: Barb has left and George has crumpled up paper wads all over his
- desk, and his holding his head like he has a head ache, Millie
- looks on concrened.
-
- Page 3: Divided into three frames. First frame Millie is searchin through
- George's roller phone number file. Second frame Millie has on
- card in her paw, another on on the floor (it says Mikhail with
- two phone number crossed off :), and she is dialing the phone.
- Third frame Millie is holding the receiver in her mouth, obviously
- waiting for George to grab it.
-
- Page 4: George doesn't seem to have such a headache anymore. He is layed
- back at his desk, feet propped up on his desk and playing paddleball
- while talking on the phone.
-
- Can *you* guess who George is talking with? I bet you can!
-
- Page 5: This is by far the most hilarious picture in the book. Down the
- hall runs Our Boy, waving hand, holding _Candyland_ :), _Twister_,
- and _Monopoly_ games in his right arm with that classic deer-in-the-
- headlights with smile look that we are all so fond of. Millie is
- also very happy to see the Dannikens and is jumping with joy! :)
-
- Page 6: Time to get down to business. Yes its Twister! Millie spins the
- wheel, George checks the color and Our Boy has his left foot
- on red, right foot on green, left hand on red!
-
- Page 7: More Twister. This time Dan has left foot on green, right foot on
- red, right hand on the floor, butt in the air and a big split in
- his grey suitpants. George is laying on his back both feet in the
- air pointing at and laughing at Danny Boy.
-
- Page 8: Millie in a close up of Dannikens split pants, the Presidential
- seal of the US is on his underwear and the eagle is holding
- GOLF CLUBS in its talons. Nice touch :)
-
- Page 9: Millie runs down the hall as fast as possible, a Yale sweatshirt
- is on the floor.
-
- Page 10: Millie has gone to Bab's bedroom, and get some needles and thread.
- In the second frame Millie is sitting by a chair with a roll of
- thread in her mouth, and a box or something with "Nancy Rea" on it.
-
- Page 11: Millie and George try to fix the rip in Our Hero's pants, while
- Dan is wearing them of course. George seems to have a hole in
- the bottom of his shoe.
-
- Page 12: Two frames. First frame Millie pushes a picture of Abe Lincoln
- aside. This is where the story gets *real strange*. Behind the
- picture of Abe is a TV set. In the second frame Millie has the
- remote control box in her mouth and a football game is on TV,
- Redskins vs. Bills.
-
- Page 13: George and Dan are watching the game. They have a huge bowl of
- popcorn, Dannikens is holding an Indianapolic Colts banner, George
- has a Colt 45 in his hand and Millie has a six pack of Colt 45
- for Dan and Dan has that Quaylegrin (tm) on his face. I kid you not!
-
- Page 14: Its half time, Redskins 17, Bill 0. George and Dan are looking at
- each other, they look worried (or drunk or somthing). Dan is still
- holding that Colts flag.
-
- Page 15: For some reason the Redskins killing the Bills was a little bit
- too much so they run down the hall, Quayle picks up the Yale
- sweatshirt laying on the floor, and Millie grabs a football helmet
- out of a closet (the closet contains, fishing equipment, golf clubs,
- soccer balls, crochet mallets, medicine ball).
-
- Page 16: Yep, they are playing football. Millie hikes the ball, George is
- QB, and the Danster is ready for the play.
-
- Page 17: Dan is leaping in the air, but misses the football and appears to
- gone through the mouth of George Washington in a portait over the
- fire place. The Danster looks very silly in this illustration :)
- Millie looks at the reader with a very evil grin.
-
- (This is the last picture with Danny Boy in it. The next set of
- pictures are very strange, but amusing :)
-
- Page 18: Millie has jumped up on the mantlepiece and moves a vase of roses
- over the damaged picture of Washinton, as to hide it.
-
- Page 19: George and Millie have had enough, they are walking downstairs to
- what appears to be a kitchen. There is brocolli in the garbage can,
- and an empty Colt 45 can laying on the floor by the garbage can.
-
- Page 20: This one is very strange. In the kitchen we have Gen. Schwartzkopf
- leaning over a cookie sheet with cookies shaped like Stealth
- bomber abd fighter planes. Next to his is a book with the title
- "Where's Dan Quayle?". A cook stands behing him, with a navy anchor
- tatoo on his arm, and is watching the TV with Murphy Brown in small
- print along the bottom.
-
- Page 21: Norman is still standing over the cookie sheet, pretending to
- fly one of the fighters into his open mouth. The "Where's Dan
- Quayle?" book is still there.
-
- Page 22: Millie flips an airplane cookie with a spatula into George's
- mouth.
-
- Page 23: Back in the Oval Office, George is stting in a chair, still with
- a Desert Storm cookie in his hand, smiling, while Millie looks
- at the clock which shows 4:45 (15 minutes until Babs gets home!)
-
- Page 24: Time to clean up! Millie is responsible. Three frames. First frame
- Millie pulls an empty beer can out from under the couch where they
- were watching football. Second frame she closes the TV. Third
- frame she is throwing the Twister mat in a waste paper basket.
-
- Page 25: Back to the office, the clock shows that it is 10 till 5, George is
- playing pattleball, but Millie is tugging on his leg, trying to get him
- to clean up before Barb gets home!
-
- Page 26: George is back at his desk, this time reading _The Baseball
- Encyclopedia_. Millie on his desk with a leg on _Millie's Book_,
- and check for $1,000,000 in her mouth written out to Millie Bush.
- George's In/Out box is full of In.
-
- Page 27: Millie takes the papers in the In box and puts them in the Out
- box (while George continues to read on). Good Dog!
-
- Page 28: Barb's home! She gets out of he limo with (get this) a Sears and
- K-Mart shopping bag!
-
- Page 29: George is back at his desk, working away, Barb say, K-Mart bag
- in arm, "Good dog, Millie!"
-
- Page 30: THE END (Millie looking over her shoulder at the reader).
