  10. My wife and I were having a debate regarding the recently defeated measure 161
  11. in California, the right-to-die bill. I stated that methods of suicide, 
  12. including effective medical ones, are already available to those who wish to
  13. look hard enough.

  15. I suggested sodium pentatol (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly) as an 
  16. appropriate vehicle for demise, noting that I'd seen it listed as a drug of
  17. choice for lethal injections administered to condemmed people in some states.
  18. She challenged me as to its availability, and suggested I try and find some.

  20. As I'm not actually interested in commiting suicide, this is an academic
  21. pursuit - but is it possible to purchase it, or its precursors, on the open
  22. market? Is it tightly controlled? Can one make it at home?

  24. Ideas regarding other appropriate methods of demise would be welcomed.
