- My wife and I were having a debate regarding the recently defeated measure 161
- in California, the right-to-die bill. I stated that methods of suicide,
- including effective medical ones, are already available to those who wish to
- look hard enough.
-
- I suggested sodium pentatol (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly) as an
- appropriate vehicle for demise, noting that I'd seen it listed as a drug of
- choice for lethal injections administered to condemmed people in some states.
- She challenged me as to its availability, and suggested I try and find some.
-
- As I'm not actually interested in commiting suicide, this is an academic
- pursuit - but is it possible to purchase it, or its precursors, on the open
- market? Is it tightly controlled? Can one make it at home?
-
- Ideas regarding other appropriate methods of demise would be welcomed.
-
- Sorry that it's not much of a recreational substance (or topic for that matter.)
