  11. I've seen a lot of use on the net of
  12. international phone numbers starting with
  13. a + sign before the country code.  Is
  14. this some sort of standard?  I have CCITT
  15. Recommendations E.160 and E.163 through
  16. E.167, and I don't see any mention of "+".

  18. The question is this:  Is it plausible to
  19. make an international telephone network
  20. product that can accept full international
  21. phone numbers (even for local calls) after
  22. being configured for where it is in the world
  23. phone network?  Seems to me yes, and now the
  24. question is what syntax to use to indicate
  25. an international phone number.
