- With all this talk about Tsui Hark,Ching Tsu Tung and John Woo and the auter
- theory one must remember that in Hong Kong movies have to be made much
- differently. There must be overlap in what cameramen, directors,producers,
- writers and cineamtographers do. Especially when it relates to Hark. I say this
- because the man has been involved in at least 20 films in the past 3 years. I
- can't think of any name talent in America that has output anywhere close to
- Harks. Even whne Amblin was cranking out films I don't think the amount was
- anywhere near that high. I think this debate about who directed what is
- grounded in our pre-concieved notions of American cinema.
