- This is not really true. Puffery is allowed only when the specific claims
- are [sorry, I don't know the exact wording of the legalese] presumed to be
- clearly known to be hype by the intended audience and is not subjectable
- to quantitative analysis. When you favorite toothpaste company brags that
- their new product "Tastes better than ever, better than any other toothpaste"
- this is puffery. But if they say "our new toothpaste will prevent gum
- disease", then this is fraud, if it is not true. Failure to abide by
- truth-in-advertising laws is illegal, and "overselling" is not permitted,
