- This reminds me of a breakthrough experience I shared with my SO's eight
- year old daughter who felt diminished and overwhelmed by Carl Sagan's
- COSMOS series. Sagan seemed to represent 'big science' which belittled
- the individual. ("Billions and Billions of ...")

- I asked her to imagine being in space and moving to the most distant
- star she could see. She did this. I suggested that because we can
- imagine such things we have embraced them and own them. Nothing is
- larger than our imagination. This was an important symbolic experience
- for her. It was empowering and positive.
