  13. Taldin wanders back in, disgruntled.  "A whole TABLE of them, now."
  14. *shakes his head* "I was at dinner, on the line, and I had a whole
  15. bunch of them whistling at me, to which I made no notice whatsoever.

  17. He sighs.  "I'm not encouraging them.  I'm not even looking.  I've
  18. said something all of thrice.  All year.  They're their own encouragement.
  19. The problem is, there are lots of them.   They think it's funny.
  20. I'm not going to change."

  22. "I remember a friend of mine back in high school- somewhere in his
  23. sophmore year he used a bow as a sign of respect.  Since he was
  24. Indian, this was nothing wrong in his book.  But those people who
  25. saw it differently came to expect it from him, and I don't know
  26. whether he saw them ridiculing his beliefs or not, but it
  27. sickened me hearing them asking him to bow for them before even 
  28. a greeting.  I am NOT gonna give them that opening.  I am not going
  29. to acknowledge that their image of me I even *marginally* accept."

  31. He nods.  "I acknowledge that height and strength isn't going to help
  32. me, either, being the non-violent type.  A slip on my part, but
  33. a one of feeling helpless to stop the jibes.  And they AREN'T trying
  34. to be friendly.   If they were, they'd say, 'Did you know you look like
  35. Robin Hood?'  Not, 'Robin Hood!' raucously.  Wonder where I got the points
  36. of Bad Stuff I seem to have now.  And as an empath, I think I am 
  37. a well enough judge of who is openminded enough to be corrected.  I recall
  38. now that these would be the people who I stopped visiting my old 
  39. high school because- or rather, a generation of people who grew up in
  40. the 'me' continuum and have egoes like their left boot.  Do I have
  41. the right to judge them as a group?  YES.  Because they're judging me
  42. as a group.  Because not one of them has the heart or mind t'think that
  43. maybe I'm ignoring them because it hurts.  I don't like being the
  44. source of someone else's jokes.  Which is why I don't like comedians
  45. who use racial jokes as their prime source of yuks.  Whatever happened
  46. to 'respect your fellow human?'

  48. oh. maybe it's because I'm not human. :P

  50. He sighs. "13 more school days, plus 5 more for finals.  Plus 3 or 4
  51. weekends.  26 days.  That's all.  And then they'll never see me 
  52. again unless I come visiting, which I doubt highly.  Stupid people
  53. shouldn't breed.  Sigh.
