  20. i would have to disagree with you.  
  21.     1)  i drink beer ==> i drink alcohol to intoxicated ==> i sin 
  22.             does not necessarily follow. i try to live my life in the
  23.             way i believe most pleasing to God, but believe that drinking beer
  24.             is very interesting on its own, apart from getting drunk. first,
  25.             it can be regarded as a social drink, such as tea, wine or coffee.
  26.             second it has a wealth of history (at least 7k years, it looks
  27.             like). third, much of it tasted GOOD; the darker (real) beers
  28.             require getting used to, as does strong coffee, but i found them
  29.             very pleasant after only a few times.

  31.     2)  I agree getting drunk usally sinful, but, as above, does
  32.             not imply that drinking beer is sinful. is ingesting cough syrup
  33.             sinful?

  35.     3)  alcohol, not beer in itself, makes one "impotent"

  38. the bible instructs us to treat our bodies as temples of God (i cor. 6), but
  39. what we do in response to that is a very hard question. i know that i abuse
  40. my body much more by using caffeine to stay awake 50 hrs to do homework than
  41. i do by drinking alcohol. i find this behavior much more displeasing to God
  42. than drinking beer, and try not to do it often. to push the point a bit
  43. further, all of us ingest chemical preservatives in the food we eat, and i
  44. don't find many christians on the bandwagon against preservatives and
  45. additives! nor do i find many making a conscious effort to eat healthily and
  46. exercise regularly. yet many people in the world are destroying their
  47. bodies/temples is this manner.

  49. finally, i find your post inciteful and with the intention of making people
  50. mad. it is also in the vein of many church teachings which are presumptious
  51. and ignorant. i love god and i love his church but by posting such letters,
  52. especially without ANY scripture to back it up, you are furthering the causes
  53. of neither. may God uses this post to further his kingdom.
