- AHHHHHHH !
-
- Draught Cask Conditioned Bass is drinkable and can in fact be very pleasant when
- kept well, although this is rare ! Generally Bass is worth overlooking !
-
- As for Double Diamond, well in the 1970's a group call CAMRA was formed in this
- country - The Campaign for Real Ale, and one of the beers that they (and I) took
- great dislike to was DD, it tastes of very litte, is very week has C02 pumped
- into it and is generally quite revolting. The method for making this unspeakable
- brew is, well, unspeakable. It's lack of taste does have distinct similarities to
- Budweiser (American, not Budvar) !!
-
- If you want good English beers in America, try various Samual Smiths, their Taddy
- Porter is great and the Imperial Stout is also good. Some people enthuse about
- Hardys, however I find it far too sweet. Old Peculiar is good in bottles and
- Newcastle Brown is a good bottled Brown Ale, although I have to admit not to
- being a Brown Ale fan - nice on occasions though it is.
-
- Sadly (for you!), if you wish good English beer, then come to England and try some
- of our great cask ales. Unfortunately many beers travel poorly, so a pint of
- Marsdens Pedigree in Stoke can be very different to one in London, but if it's well
- kept then you can get fairly consistent quality.
-
- Any reccomendations for good American beer available in England - I live in
- London so there must be somthing somewhere - go on, persuade me that there is
- such a thing as good American Beer ;-)
-
- Cheers,
- Colin
