- according to the latest newsgroup lists (and CHECKGROUP postings) that I have
- seen there is NO REC.ARCHERY news group. If someone out there feels that there
- is enough support (see below) out there to attempt to get REC.ARCHERY created,
- I would support that effort.

- In order to create a new newsgroup in the mainstream hierachies (COMP.*,
- NEWS.*, MISC.*, REC.*, SCI.*, SOC.*, & TALK.*) the group must be discussed and
- voted upon. For NEW a group to pass it must recieve a 2/3rd majority of YES
- votes and at least 100 more YES votes that NO votes (see "Guidelines for
- newsgroup creation", periodically posted in NEWS.ANSWERS)
