-
-
- When A crayfish molts, it sheds its entire skeleton, and comes out with a new
- one which is soft and hardens in several hours. It does not lose its
- claws, and will have new ones after the molt if it has lost any. Note
- two things after the molt:
-
- 1) A crayfish is very vulnerable from the time it
- starts molting until several hours after. During
- this time, it should have places to hide, or
- it will become food to whatever else is in the tank.
-
- 2) Leave the skeleton in the tank. The crayfish needs the
- calcium from its old skeleton and will eat it.
