- Check out FTP.CAC.WASHINGTON.EDU, particularly the /imap directory. IMAP
- server and clients are there. Think I saw some RFC's as well. I've been
- experimenting with MailStrom (Macintosh IMAP client) running the imapd
- server on a SUN.
-
- It's main attraction for me is that it leaves the mail on the server which
- would be useful for some of my users who are "multi-homed." Sometimes in
- Austin, sometimes in DC, sometimes in an airport somewhere.
-
- The IMAP stuff originates in great part from Mark Crispin (one of) THE
- father(s) of MM on the DEC-20 (R.I.P.). And some of the Macintosh
- client is reminescent of MM-20/32. The concept of expunge and the
- use of CMD-K to delete a message come to mind.
-
- All in all, I still like and use Eudora on my Macintosh and MM-32 on
- the VAX. I can still type faster than I can point and click!
