  16.          In article <6973@skye.ed.ac.uk> ken@aiai.ed.ac.uk (Ken Johnson) writes:
  17.
  18.     Anyone with an account at the Royal Bank of Scotland will have received<
  19.       a note with their most recent bank statement giving information about<
  20.         their Complaints and Compliments leaflets, which are now to hand in<
  21.                                       branches.<
  22.                                            <
  23.        When I got mine, I unfortunately forgot that I had recently been charged<
  24.      8 pounds for being 25 pounds overdrawn for 3 days, and that a few days<
  25.        after that I had been charged 25.60 pounds for 25 Irish pounds' worth of<
  26.      Irish currency, worth 22.75 UK pounds.  So I wrote `Why can't we have left<
  27.                   handed cheque books?' on my form and returned it.<
  28.                                            <
  29.      Seems a reasonable request to me.  Anyone else want to add their voice<
  30.                                        to mine?<
  31.
  32.
  33.        I remember asking about this in some English bank some eight or ten years
  34.                                   ago. The staff thought it was extremely funny.
  35.
  36.        Some of the banks (TSB perhaps) have cheque stubs that you write parallel
  37.             to the spine rather than away from it, which is a reasonable move...
  38.
  39.                                                                            Nick.
