- Indeed, depending on how you define WWII, dates as early as 1933 can be
- justified. (That was when Japan invaded China... which is not just a
- side issue, because it was the ultimate cause of Pearl Harbor. Japan
- attacked because of the US/UK/Dutch oil embargo, which was imposed due
- to Japan's unwillingness to halt its ongoing conquest of China.)
