  31. The place to look is in the old chinaware section.  It turns out that the 
  32. "fiesta ware" pieces which are very bright orange got that way because they
  33. use a uranium containing glaze. The uranium is natural abundance, of course,
  34. but the purity must be pretty high because the activity is quite significant.

  36. The New York regulations on "Ionizing Radiation Protection" (12 NYCRR 38)
  37. list this as an exempted use as follows:  "Source material contained in any
  38. of the following products: Glazed ceramic tableware, the glaze of which
  39. contains not more than 20% by weight of source material;....."
