  14. Lectureship in Operations Research, and Lectureship/Senior Lectureship in
  15. Statistics.

  17. The Department of Statistics has two newly created positions in Operations
  18. Research and Statistics.  Applicants should have a PhD and/or teaching,
  19. research or consulting experience in one of these areas.  The Department is
  20. particularly interested in seeking candidates with expertise in one or more
  21. of the following: Stochastic Operations Research (applied probability,
  22. decision theory), Business Statistics (statistical process control, total
  23. quality improvement methods), and Applied Statistics (including statistical
  24. consulting).  The Department teaches undergraduate postgraduate and service
  25. courses, and supervises research degrees to the PhD level.  Courses are also
  26. taught by correspondence throughout New Zealand.  The Department is interested
  27. in expanding its consulting activities, and the position in Statistics may be
  28. offered at Senior Lecturer level to a suitably qualified and experienced
  29. applicant.
