- The differential equation above appears in Abramowitz and Stegun
- p. 504, 13.1.1 . However, these Kummer functions M(a,0,z) and
- U(a,0,z) are ill-defined when the 2nd argument is 0 (which
- is the case of interest). Can someone tell me how to compute
- in this case or point me to a more complete reference? One reference
- given by A&S, namely Erdelyi V1 Chapter VI does not provide much
- insight. In particular I am seeking a first order series expansion
- of the solution about a particular point where z is large.
