  16. The LA subway is a special case and should not be used for comparision to
  17. anywhere else.  The above quoted cost is correct bu is 3 to 4 times what 
  18. the cost almost anywhere esle would bee for two reasons:

  20. 1)  The subway is being built under Wilshire Blvd with out tering up the
  21.     street so the whole thing is being done underground.
  22.  
  23. 2)  The idiots decided to build it right through the middle of the
  24.     La Brea Tar Pits.  So they have to deal with support issues, Methane
  25.     Gas, Ventilation adn other stuff noone else does.
